Our annual Michaelmas celebration took place on the first truly autumn-like day in the East Bay. While it doesn’t get that cold here, our Michaelmas celebration reminds us to take stock and gather our courage for the coming cold and darkness that last from the fall to the spring equinox. The story of St. George isn’t so much religious as symbolic of the courage we need to face our inner fears and the outer world. Like St. George, and brave people today, we can tame the dragon of uncertainty, fear and doubt with our own shining courage and truth.
